Grandparents Can Spoil Their Grandkids
Video Transcribed: Reason number five your grandchild needs you, close companionship. Hi, I’m Oklahoma Grandparents Rights Attorney, Justin Mosteller, and I’m going to spend a little bit of time talking to you today about the kind of close companionship that a grandparent can provide.
I hope you’ve taken the time to review the other parts because there really are things about your relationship with your grandchild that only you can provide as a grandparent. One of those things is close companionship.
The relationship between a child and a grandparent can be more like a close friendship. The type of relationship a parent and child have is just different.
We always see the old joke that grandparents spoil the heck out of the kids, and that’s true, and that’s good, but it’s also true that a child can go to a grandparent with questions that maybe they’re uncomfortable talking about with their parents.
And it really does take all of us acting in concert to raise a child upright in the way that the family has chosen to raise the child. And that close companionship is critical. Children benefit so much from having adult role models in their lives that they feel safe around. And nobody’s safer than a grandparent.
So, if you find yourself being denied contact with your grandchild, feel free to seek counsel from our office to speak with a Grandparents Rights Attorney in Oklahoma. We’ll be happy to help and to give you some advice and give you the tools that you need to preserve that relationship so that you can be a close companion to your grandchild for years to come.
